People and Nature—Exploring a Relationship

Established more than 20 years ago, the Friends of the Arboretum’s Luncheon Lecture series features outstanding programs related to the natural world accompanied by a delicious buffet lunch and the opportunity to socialize with others who care and are curious about the environment.

All luncheon-lectures are held from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Arboretum Visitor Center Auditorium. A buffet lunch is served at 11:45 a.m., with the program beginning at approximately 12:30 p.m. Luncheon-lectures are $18 for members ($22 for non-members).

Located between Lake Wingra and the West Beltline Highway at 1207 Seminole Highway, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum features the restored prairies, forests and wetlands of pre-settlement Wisconsin. This 1,260-acre arboretum also houses flowering trees, shrubs and a world-famous lilac collection. Educational tours for groups and the general public, science and nature-based classes for all ages and abilities, and a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for groups, families and individuals are available.
